I played electric guitar in a live orchestra for my school's annual play, Big Fish. It was a great learning experience and my first time performing on electric guitar. I performed in all eight showings.
I had the opportunity to open for Jiji and Daniel Fears at the Rosette. It was wonderful to work with Jiji again. Daniel, an R&B artist, is also involved with the Music and Healing program at Austin Classical Guitar, which I aspire to be a part of someday. Both were incredible musicians, and I hope to collaborate with them again in the future.
ACGYO performed a concert at the Blanton Museum of Art, featuring the top players from the group. My trio had the privilege of performing two pieces there.
ACGYO went on our annual tour to Spain, visiting Madrid, Granada, Murcia, Alicante, Toledo, and Almeria. We toured the Alhambra guitar factory and performed a small concert there. We also performed a set in the Torres guitar museum. At a house once lived in by Antonio de Torres, my trio played a piece. We also gave a formal concert at a community center and ended our time in Granada with an impromptu recital on the steps of a beautiful cathedral.
Recently, my new trio had the incredible opportunity to open for Ana Vidovic during her performances in Austin. This experience was particularly special as Ana has been an idol of mine for years.
